Training Department

The Training Department of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Established in 2011, it stands as a fundamental pillar in the professionalization of the golf sector in Spain. Its main mission is To design, develop and deliver official qualifications approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport through the Higher Sports Council. This is how the National School of Sports Technicians (ENTD), which prepares highly qualified professionals to perform diverse and demanding roles in the Golf Industry.

In addition to training Sports Technicians, the Training Department is actively involved in the professional sector development. Through courses, seminars and other initiatives, contributing a Continuing education for technicians, contributing to raising the level of excellence in all areas of sport.

FAQs

Once the Royal Decree is approved and the Transitional Period ends, how will it affect all of us who have previous qualifications and have not yet joined the new sports qualifications plan?

As we have mentioned, they must request validation so that the Commission can assess all the documentation provided on the training carried out by the interested party during their professional career, in order to determine what level of Technician is recognized.

Can I take the Level III Course, during the Transitional Period, with my 2003 teacher's assistant license?

Yes, provided you pass an official "Comprehensive Test" prior to the Course, which we will hold for this purpose, given that you have training from the period of 2003 to 2007.

I am a Level I Sports Technician, and I want to apply for Level II. Do I have to take any kind of test to be admitted to the course?

No, you can enroll directly in the Course under the conditions and requirements set out in the call for applications.

Will my assistant golf instructor qualification be recognized under the new certifications? Do I have to apply for it? And… what level would my new status correspond to?

The recognition process is carried out individually at the request of the interested party, with the corresponding application to the CSD (Spanish National Sports Council). All submitted documentation, along with the experience acquired over the years practicing the profession, will be taken into account and assessed to grant a new qualification and its corresponding level. This process will begin after the current Transitional Period.

Is it possible to directly access the Level III Course with the category of assistant golf instructor from 1998?

Yes, you could apply directly in the Level III course as long as we are within the Transition Period.

I have had my golf instructor license since 2003. Can I apply directly for the Level II Course, or do I have to complete the Level I Course first?

From September 10th of this year, and thanks to the publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of the CSD's recognition of the training courses provided by the RFEG during the 2003-2007 period, you can directly enroll in the Level II Sports Technician Course, after passing a "Comprehensive Test" that ensures knowledge of the fundamentals studied in the Level I Course. This test can be prepared in advance during the "preparatory course" that will be organized to guide students through the necessary content.

So in the meantime, can I apply directly for the Level III Course to update my training and ensure the highest category within the profession without having to wait for that process?

Yes. During the Transition Period, you can apply directly for the Level III Course. However, we recommend that you first take the "preparatory course," which is necessary to update your knowledge in all areas covered in the previous level courses.

I have been a golf instructor since 1985. What do I need to do to validate my qualification with the new certifications?

To "validate" it, we will have to wait until the RFEG, together with the CSD, finishes drafting the Title established in the Royal Decree, at which point it will be published in the BOE, the Transitional Period will end and the process of "Validations, Homologation and Equivalencies" will begin to specifically assess your case and thus see what Level it is equivalent to.
