What is the relationship between the gluteal muscles (gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus) and golf? To begin with, it should be said that this muscle group has the highest number of muscle fibers of any muscle group in the body, making it one of the most important in our body.

Regarding the well-known lower back pain, the glutes are the muscles that stabilize the pelvis and generate hip extension.

When these muscles are weak or inhibited, other muscles have to compensate, and in most people it's the lumbar muscles that take over the function of the glutes, generating a lot of strain in the lower back and often very debilitating lower back pain. As you all know, this is very much related to golf.
