Her Majesty Queen Letizia has accepted the Honorary Presidency of the 2023 Solheim Cup, a prestigious international women's team competition that will pit Europe and the United States against each other on Spanish soil for the first time in the tournament's history from September 18 to 24, 2023 at Finca Cortesín (Costa del Sol, Andalusia).

The unconditional support of the Royal Household reaffirms its commitment to women's sport and golf as ideal vehicles for transmitting the best values, in addition to reinforcing the position of the Solheim Cup 2023, a historic international competition that recently received another fundamental boost by being declared an event of exceptional public interest by the Government of Spain.

It is also noteworthy that this is the first women's golf event to receive this designation as an event of exceptional public interest, a distinction that underscores the importance of this competition on the international stage.

The Presidency of the Honorary Committee of the 2023 Solheim Cup by Her Majesty Queen Letizia is yet another reflection of the harmony between the main institutions of the State and all the entities involved in the organization and implementation of this important competition, which will undoubtedly become an ideal ambassador for the virtues of our country and, in particular, of Andalusia and the Costa del Sol.
