Gonzaga Escauriaza, President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, accompanied by Juan Guerrero-Burgos, Secretary General of this federative body, have paid a visit to the Los Ángeles de San Rafael sports complex, which among its many new features incorporates an innovative academic center that allows students to combine studies and golf.
Welcomed by Óscar Gil –President of the Ciudad de los Ángeles de San Rafael complex as well as the ASR Golf club located on the grounds– and Marco Martín, the golf course designer, the federation representatives learned firsthand about the renovations carried out on many of its holes, as well as the project for the academic center, called Slam Universities, where students will be able to pursue Baccalaureate studies, Vocational Training and various university degrees, all with the aim of facilitating the reconciliation of high-level sport for students.
Among the projects to be implemented soon is the creation of a Golf School and some short holes in order to promote the practice of golf.
Opened in May 2010, ASR Golf is located in a unique natural environment in the heart of the Sierra de Guadarrama, with a striking design characterized by its integration into the natural environment where a spectacular holm oak forest dotted with imposing rocks is crossed by the deep wound of the Moros river ravine.
