Eduardo Bergé, Member of the RFEG Courses and Handicap Committee, explains the process for determining the difficulty of a golf course, which is reflected in the course value and the slope value.

«"It's about predicting the number of strokes players will take on a course," he tells us, for which "you have to simulate the game of two players, one with a very low handicap and the other with a very high handicap.".

To standardize this process and ensure that course ratings reflect reality, the Courses and Handicap Committee of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation has been conducting seminars since 2001 to unify criteria.
