The DP World Tour returns to Wentworth Club, a temple of golf that has hosted the BMW PGA Championship since 1972. Twelve Spanish golfers have traveled there with one mission: to bring home a cup that has eluded our players since 2008, when Miguel Ángel Jiménez won.
Leading the charge are three players who participated this week in a Ryder Cup training camp at Adare Manor (Ireland): Jon Rahm, Eugenio López-Chacarra, and Ángel Ayora. The latter two recently had a strong showing in a tournament in Switzerland two weeks ago.
Simultaneously, the Portugal Open, a HotelPlanner Tour event, is underway. Pablo Ereño, runner-up in the Road to Mallorca, is not participating, but Joseba Torres, who is on the rise, is, as he demonstrated last week at the English Trophy. The tournament has enough going for it to promise a good week on Portuguese soil.
Carla Bernat, back in the game
Now sporting the symbolic title of winner, Carla Bernat returns to competition on the Epson Tour. Currently ranked fourth, the Castellón native will face the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout alongside Teresa Toscano.
And on the other hand, La Sella Open, a LET event about which full information is offered on this website, is another of the interesting commitments of a week in which the LETAS is also active with the Lavaux Ladies Open.
