The Aldeamayor Golf Club team has won the 2023 Spanish Interclub Pitch & Putt Championship after maintaining the lead achieved on the first day in the individual matches of the final round.

The team from the host club, captained by Raquel Ortiz de Pinedo and made up of Miguel Martín, Pablo César Gómez, Samuel Nieto and José María Ortiz de Pinedo, achieved a total of 156 strokes, the result of choosing the three best rounds (50, 50, 56).

With this result, the Aldeamayor team achieved a total of 355 strokes, 17 strokes less than the Escorpión Golf Club team, which with 372 strokes has finished second, a position it already reached on the first day.

The team from Club La Moraleja completed the podium, delivering the best result of the day with a score of 151 strokes, and knocking out Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, who finished fourth, by just three strokes.

Aldeamayor, leader after the first day

The first day of the Spanish Interclub Pitch & Putt Championship, played on the Valladolid course of Aldeamayor, left the host club's team at the top of the standings after the Fourball and Foursomes rounds.

The first of these had the most outstanding team from Golf Sotoverde, also from Valladolid, as it was in first position thanks to an accumulated score of 98 strokes, ahead of the teams from Aldeamayor and Escorpión, with one stroke less.

Thus, it was in the second round, the Foursomes round, where Aldeamayor managed to turn the situation around and reach the lead, this time with a score of 100 strokes and a total of 210 strokes.

Behind the local team was the Escorpión Golf Club, with a second score of 111 strokes and a total of 210 strokes, and the Villa de Madrid Country Club team made it onto the podium with scores of 111 and 117 strokes, and a total of 218 strokes.

Likewise, on an individual level, local golfers José María Ortiz de Pinedo and Miguel Martín stood out on this first day with scores of -9.

This Spanish Interclub Pitch & Putt Championship featured the participation of the defending champions, Club de Golf Paderne (accumulated handicap 38.7), as well as the teams of Escorpión (3.6), Torrepacheco (6.3), Olímpico de León (6.4), Aldeamayor (8.9), Villa de Madrid (9.4), La Moraleja (15), La Galera (18.9), Las Palmeras (19.3), Centro de Tecificación de la Federación de Golf de Madrid (23.8), Villa de Cuéllar (29.2), Deva Golf (32.4), Sotoverde (35), Boxer's Green (35.1), El Maderal (44.5) and 5&3 (47.3).
