The Torre Pacheco golf course in Murcia hosts this weekend, April 5th and 6th, the II National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament, an event that brings together fifty-four players, some of them with a very interesting sporting record built in recent years in this specialty of golf.

The list of participants is headed, based on the playing handicap, by the Canary Islander César Crespo – runner-up in Spain for Pitch & Putt in 2024 – and the Murcian Mariano Peñalver, who come to Murcia with handicaps of 0.5.

Special mention should also be made of the young Antón Pérez (handicap -0.3) –Spanish Cadet Champion of P&P in 2021 and 2022–, Marco Reina (-0.3) –third in the Spanish P&P Championship 2023– and Gonzalo Rosa (-0.1), who completes the quintet of players with negative handicaps.

The quality and chances of winning the title also extend to Javier Pérez – runner-up in the Spanish Mid Amateur P&P Championship in 2024 and 2025 –, José Ángel Pérez – Spanish P&P Champion in 2021 and Doubles Champion in 2024 and 2025 –, César Fernández de Caleya – winner of the Spanish Mid Amateur P&P Championship in 2025 –, Bernabé González – first place finisher in the Spanish P&P Championships in 2017 and 2023…

As has been the custom in recent years, the National Ranking tournaments are held in three rounds: the first two are played on Saturday and the third on Sunday morning.

Once again, Bodegas Habla is sponsoring the competition, awarding a valuable Magnum to players who achieve a hole-in-one on both days.

Six events make up the National Ranking

The 2025 National Pitch & Putt Ranking consists of six events: the Spanish Individual Championships and the four National Ranking Tournaments. The first of the Spanish Championships will be the men's, to be held on May 17th and 18th in Paderne (A Coruña), while the women's will take place on October 25th and 26th at Golf Elche.

There are also three National Qualifying events left to be played: Golf Torrepacheco (Murcia, April 5-6), La Junquera Golf (Cantabria, June 14-15) and, finally, Las Encinas Golf (Madrid, September 20-21).
