The 3rd National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament 2024, which was played at the Palacio de Urgoiti course in Vizcaya, crowned Noel Calzadilla as the winner with a total of 106 strokes (-2), one less than Richard Astín Nustedt, Bernabé González and Marcos Rodríguez, who shared second place, although the runner-up position went to the first due to his higher handicap.

The Canary Islander, who started this last round in second position, managed to reach first place after signing the same card as the previous day, 53 strokes (-1), and taking advantage of the bad day of Juan Soler, the first leader of the event.

Also noteworthy are the three holes-in-one achieved in the tournament, the first during the second round of the first day, by Alain Echano, and the other two, in this final round, by Francisco Cala and Marcos Rodríguez.

The three players received a Magnum of Bodegas Habla as a prize, which acts as a sponsor of the competition.

Juan Soler leads after an eventful day

The 2024 National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament III was marked from the start by the suspension of the first round on Saturday due to the inclement weather recorded at the Vizcaya course of the Palacio de Urgoiti, which forced the tournament to be reduced to 36 holes.

The second round was able to be played without incident, and in it, four players finished under par: the Andalusian Juan Soler, leading the classification with 52 strokes (-2), and the Galician Ramón Baladrón and the Canary Islanders Noel Calzadilla and Marcos Rodríguez, sharing the second position with 53 strokes (-1).

Fifth event counting towards the National Ranking

This was the fourth of the six events valid for the 2024 National Pitch & Putt Ranking.

The first of these was held at Las Palmeras Golf (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) with a victory for César Fernández de Caleya.

The second and third were the Spanish Women's Championship – which was played in La Rosaleda (Tenerife) and concluded with a victory for María Velázquez – and the Spanish Men's Championship, in Rio Cabe, with a victory for Prakash Aisa.

Apart from this National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament held at Palacio Urgoiti, there is only one more tournament remaining, which will be held at Masía de las Estrellas (Valencia) on September 7th and 8th.
