A good week for Nacho Elvira (-11 overall) at the Husqvarna British Masters, one of the veteran tournaments on the DP World Tour calendar, held at the popular Belfry course. The Cantabrian golfer, boosted by a brilliant 65 (-7) in the first round, finished tied for second place.

Only surpassed by England's Joe Dean (-14), Elvira had a remarkably solid week, marred only by a 72 in the third round. The Cantabrian was the only Spaniard in the Top 20. It's worth noting that Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño (+8), the defending champion, also made the cut. A good week for the Madrid native, a seven-time winner on the DP World Tour.

Another positive development on the men's side was the Top 20 finish achieved by Javier Calles (-3), Alfredo García-Heredia (-3), and Santiago Tarrío (-2) at the Dormy Open, part of the HotelPlanner Tour. In Calles' case, this was especially impressive considering he recovered from a 77 on the opening day.

Ana Peláez gave a good performance in Ireland

The KPMG Women's Irish Open, part of the Ladies European Tour, was another of the week's attractive events. At The K Club, Ana Peláez (-9) and Blanca Fernández (-8) enjoyed a remarkable week, rewarded, in the case of the Andalusian golfer, with a Top 20 finish.

Many eyes were on the LPGA's FM Championship, where the newly crowned world number one amateur, Paula Martín from Madrid, was joining four other Spanish players who regularly compete on the circuit. However, the outcome was disappointing, as none of them made the cut.

Furthermore, Sunday saw another excellent result for Carla Bernat on the Epson Tour, this time in the Dream First Bank Charity Classic. The golfer from Castellón finished sixteenth with a score of -6, thanks mainly to her excellent opening round (67).
