The Spanish Under-16 Women's Regional Federation Championship is celebrating its fifth edition at the Gambito Golf Club Calatayud, in the province of Zaragoza. Sixteen teams have traveled there to compete in the tournament, which runs from September 3rd to 6th. Madrid, winner of the last three editions, is the team to beat.

The Madrid team (cumulative handicap -15.6) features two of the architects of the 2025 triumph, Ángela Revuelta and Rut Díaz, who will be accompanied by Paula Puerta and Icíar Rodríguez, one of the most in-form golfers in the category, as she demonstrated with her victory this summer in the Czech Republic Under-18 International.

Madrid's path to a fourth consecutive title will not be easy; three other teams have a negative cumulative handicap: Andalusia (-9.4), Valencian Community (-6.3), and Catalonia (-0.3). These three teams boast impressive golfers such as Chanya Huaysan, Sofía Gamilla, the current national Junior Champion, Daniela Carrión, and Paula Jiménez, who recently won the English International.

The other teams participating in the tournament are the representatives of Murcia (1.7), Aragon (1.9), Galicia (2.6), Basque Country (6.4), Canary Islands (11.1), Balearic Islands (11.4), Castile and León (12.3), Cantabria (18), Extremadura (21.5), Asturias (31.7), Navarre (41.2) and La Rioja (55.1).

Sixteen teams, each composed of four golfers, are taking part in a tournament that will begin with a Stroke Play qualifying round, followed by three knockout rounds. The teams that finish the first round in the top eight positions will compete for the title.
