The Madrid pair did not start the second day in the lead; that role was reserved for Cristina de Donesteve and Virginia Juste, the best after a round played under the Fourball format in which they stood out with a perfect card of 70 strokes (-1). They were the only ones to play under par.

The second day was played in Greensome format, and there De Donesteve and Juste suffered a setback in the form of an 85. Conversely, Macarena Campomanes and Catalina Castillejo delivered a solid 71, making the task very difficult for the rest of the participating teams.

Alejandra Pastor and Natalia Rubio, on one side, and Amelia Alonso and María Dolores Serra, on the other, challenged the Puerta de Hierro golfers for the win with two 75s, but that was as far as it went. Campomanes and Castillejo once again claimed the gold, as they did in 2016 and 2017, finishing one stroke ahead of the two pairs mentioned above.

Meanwhile, the defending champions, Natalia Martínez-Reboredo and Ana Urgoiti from Galicia, shared fourth place with two other illustrious players, Rocío Ruiz de Velasco and María de Orueta, with only two more strokes than the winners.

Catalina Castillejo, the most successful in the competition

The history of this competition includes some of the most prominent names in women's senior golf in Spain. At first glance, Catalina Castillejo herself stands out, having won seven times, three times with her sister Casilda, three times with Macarena Campomanes, and once with Carmen Maestre.

Macarena Campomanes herself, with four consecutive titles between 2014 and 2017 in the company of María Castillo, Mercedes Gómez and Catalina Castillejo (on two occasions) and the one achieved now in 2026, and María Castillo herself, with another three titles, also stand out in the record of this Senior Women's Doubles.
