Macarena Campomanes secured her fourth Spanish Women's Senior Individual Championship title this Sunday at the Costa Ballena Ocean Golf Club (Rota, Cádiz). The Madrid native (even par overall) capitalized on her stratospheric first round to win decisively.

The National Team golfer, a previous winner in 2015, 2019, and 2025, perfectly capitalized on the lead she gained on Friday. This Sunday, she carded her second consecutive round of 73 strokes (+3) to finish three strokes ahead of María Castillo from the Canary Islands, who posted the best round of the day (67, -3).

The third place was shared by Soledad Fernández de Araoz from Madrid and Sylvie van Molle from Belgium, both with +10.

A spectacular start by Macarena Campomanes

The tournament kicked off on Friday with Macarena Campomanes as the undisputed star. Her round of 64 strokes (-6) propelled her to the top of the leaderboard. It was a dream round: eleven par holes on the front nine and a flurry of birdies on the back seven. Four birdies and an eagle from over 170 meters completed a spectacular scorecard. “I’ve prepared a lot for this tournament,” the National Teams player said at the clubhouse.

On the second day, Campomanes carded a 73 (+3), commendably overcoming a rough patch between holes 8 and 13, where he made four bogeys. Van Molle, meanwhile, shot a 72 (+2) to solidify her second-place position, four strokes ahead of Soledad Fernández de Araoz. The cut was made at the end of the day at 72nd place, with the leaderboard set at +50.

Fourth qualifying event for the National Senior Ranking

This was the fourth and final qualifying event for the 2026 National Senior Women's Ranking. The first was the Spanish Individual International, held in February at Mediterráneo Golf (Castellón) with María Castillo, tenth, as the best Spanish player; afterwards, the aforementioned Guadalhorce National Senior Women's Grand Prix (Málaga) and the Spanish Mid Amateur Championship at Lauro Golf (Málaga) were played, with Macarena Campomanes in second position.
