The Royal Spanish Golf Federation has appointed Mabel Pascual del Pobil as Sports Director of the Women's Amateur Technical Committee, replacing Ana Monfort, who is retiring.
Mabel Pascual del Pobil, a 29-year-old native of Cádiz, boasts an impressive sporting resume, including her victory in the World Junior Championship, the Topolino Trophy, in 1989. Runner-up in the Spanish Junior Championship in both 1988 and 1989, the new Sports Director of the Women's Amateur Technical Committee (CTAF) was a regular member of the Spanish national golf teams in the early 1990s, with special mention for the gold medal she won at the 1990 Swedish International Team Championship, a precursor to the European Under-18 Team Championship, which she helped to win in the 1991 edition.
She later crossed the Atlantic to study at Florida State University, where she graduated with a degree in Business Administration, specializing in Information Systems Management. She subsequently put her studies into practice at companies such as AMS Management Systems Spain, Telefónica Data, Firstmark Comunicaciones Spain, and Indra Sistemas. Between 1999 and 2002, she was a member of the RFEG's Technical Committee for Handball, contributing to the monitoring of players on the Spanish Women's National Team.
Also noteworthy is the outstanding work carried out by Ana Monfort since she took up the position of Sports Director of the CTAF back in 1995, a highly fruitful period for Spanish golf that includes victories in all the major international competitions.
