The Royal Spanish Golf Federation (RFEG), together with the Spanish Association of Golf Courses (AECG), has promoted a meeting with the prestigious consultancy ZABALA Innovation in order to advise Spanish golf courses on their access to European Funds of the Next Generation EU program.

At the request of the RFEG and the AECG, with whom ZABALA Innovation reached an agreement last August, the consultancy has made itself available to the courses in a teleconference meeting chaired by Gonzaga Escauriaza, President of the RFEG, and Luis Nigorra, President of the AECG.

Daniel Agudo and Javier Alonso, responsible for Business Development and Team at ZABALA Innovation, respectively, have answered the queries of representatives of golf courses interested in identifying, selecting and managing projects financeable by the European Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Fund.

This is a first contact, since those fields that wish to delve deeper into this advice for their projects can do so individually from this moment on.

An alliance to keep the golf industry together

The agreement reached by the RFEG (Royal Spanish Golf Federation) and the AECG (Spanish Association of Golf Course Manufacturers) with Zabala Innovation reflects the sector's strategy of remaining united to combat the severe impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This mission also includes the collaboration of Spanish professional golf organizations such as the Spanish Greenkeepers Association, the Spanish Golf Managers Association, and the Spanish Golf Professionals Association, whose role will be to provide technical support for the initiatives undertaken, as well as to promote this agreement.

The alliance comes at a time when various public administrations are strengthening their diverse aid programs aimed at projects by public and private entities that stimulate economic activity through the European Next Generation EU funds.

This agreement aims to unify the criteria, requests and projects of the sector and to obtain, through Zabala Innovation, the precise information and specific advice for each project.
