Postigo set his sights on victory on the first day with a magnificent round of 70 strokes, giving him a seven-stroke lead over Andoni Juaristi. Far from resting on his laurels, the Cantabrian golfer sealed the win with a 69, finishing twelve strokes ahead of Antonio Llerena – who carded a remarkable 73 – and fifteen ahead of Juaristi himself.

Simultaneously, the Spanish Cup, reserved for golfers with a handicap equal to or greater than 18.5 (and also in possession of the Medical Pass), and the Federation Cup, created in 2019 and intended for those players with an exact handicap equal to or less than 28 and without a Medical Pass, but who can prove at least a 33% disability, have been held.

The Spanish Cup has concluded with a victory for José Manuel Heras with 69 points, while the Federation Cup has gone to Alfonso Martínez with 76.

As in the previous fifteen editions, the event has been specifically sponsored by the RFEG Adapted Golf Committee to give more opportunities to access this sport to people with different disabilities.

From Xavi Rubio's triumph to the duel between Llerena and Postigo

This Spanish Championship has become a key event for Spanish Adapted Golf. It was inaugurated at the National Golf Center in 2010 with a victory for Xavi Rubio from Catalonia. In 2011, in Villaitana (Alicante), Francisco Centeno succeeded him, adding to the list of winners. Antonio Llerena (2012, 2013, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023) has six titles, and Juan Postigo (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026) has eight.

This Championship has been played in accordance with the Rules established by the EDGA (European Disabled Golf Association) and following the “Modifications to the Rules of Golf for Disabled Players” edited by the Rules Committee of the RFEG and approved by R&A Limited.
