Jon Rahm, the undisputed leader of LIV Golf, comes to Valderrama with the intention of shining brightly, aware, however, of the great obstacles that exist to achieve victory in the LIV Golf Andalucía, which is played from June 4 to 7 at the emblematic Real Club Valderrama.

With the league returning to one of the most renowned venues in European golf for its fourth edition, the players reflected on the day before the unique challenge that Valderrama presents, their current form heading into the week and what it means to compete in front of the Spanish public at one of the most anticipated stops on the 2026 LIV Golf calendar.

Legion XIII captain Jon Rahm returns to Real Club Valderrama as the current leader of the LIV Golf individual standings, aiming to improve on his second-place finish at the LIV Golf Andalucía last season and continue his winning streak in front of the home crowd.

After a challenging week at the LIV Korea Golf Championships, Rahm was encouraged by his ability to fight in difficult conditions and secure another valuable points result, despite not playing his best.

Back on a course where last year he signed a 65-stroke card without bogeys in the final round, the man from Barrika is savoring the opportunity to compete again on Spanish soil.

“It’s always great to come home. This is the highlight of the year for me and for other Spaniards,” Rahm said. “I always come back with extra motivation because it’s a very special week.”.

Rahm also highlighted the unique demands of the Real Club Valderrama, one of the most respected tournaments in world golf.

“This course doesn’t give away rounds like that very often. You have to earn them,” he commented. “It’s incredibly difficult. It’s very twisty. You have to play sensational golf.”.

The Basque man also paid tribute to the extraordinary career of Sergio García, captain of Fireballs GC, in Valderrama.

“The fact that Sergio is one of the few players in history to have won multiple championships here shows how difficult this course is,” Rahm explained. “He’s an incredible player and a master of the wind, but it’s never easy to win at home.”.

Rahm will look to channel that extra motivation this week in pursuit of his first individual title at the LIV Golf Andalucía and another strong team performance for the reigning team champions, Legion XIII.
