Sports, nautical, golf and active tourism products are part of the Valencian Community's tourism destination model and their development is included in the Valencian Community's Global Strategic Tourism Plan 2010-2020 with the following objectives:
Sports: Consolidation of sporting events, training stays and promotion of participatory sports tourism at the amateur level.
Nautical: Revitalization and structuring through micro-segmented strategies for nautical tourism modalities.
Golf: Product structuring and marketing.
Active: Improve national and international positioning.
Turespaña's 2013 Marketing Plan focuses on developing sports tourism through the "Enjoy" pillar, which includes nautical activities, golf, water sports, active tourism, and winter sports. Turespaña uses sports as a tool to promote the Spain brand in emerging markets where it has less visibility.
