Europe put on a fantastic display on the second and final day of the 2026 PING Junior Solheim Cup, but the title went to the United States (13-11), as expected after their dominant opening performance. This Under-18 competition, which pits Europe against the United States as a prelude to the professional tournament, featured four Spanish players at the Bernadus Golf course in the Netherlands: Adriana García Terol, Carlota López, Marta Muñoz, and Carolina Pérez-Tasso.

The team captained by Dutch player Anne van Dam faced the daunting task on Tuesday of overcoming a 9.5-2.5 deficit. Realistically, it seemed almost impossible against the powerful American squad. And yet, they weren't so far off the mark: they managed to add eight and a half points in this stretch.

In the Spanish contingent, Carlota López earned a point in her match against Iris Lee (3/2), and Marta Muñoz contributed half a point by drawing against Anna Fang. Adriana García Terol (4/3) and Carolina Pérez-Tasso (2up) left empty-handed today.

Despite the defeat, these four players, who have earned their place in the squad throughout the year due to their numerous achievements, have experienced two spectacular days that will continue in the professional Solheim Cup, as they will stay until Sunday to closely follow a competition in which, who knows, they could be protagonists in a few years.

A difficult start for the home team

The start of the PING Junior Solheim Cup wasn't easy for either the European team or the Spanish delegation. The day ended with a decisive 9.5-2.5 victory for Morgan Pressel's team.

In the morning, it was the turn of the foursomes, in which Van Dam fielded two Spanish pairs: Carolina Pérez-Tasso and Adriana García Terol on one side, and Carlota López and Marta Muñoz on the other. Neither pair managed to score on a disastrous morning for Europe, as indicated by the 5-1 score: the former lost 2up after holding a two-hole lead, and the latter succumbed more decisively (4/3).

In the afternoon, in the fourballs, these same pairs repeated their success. Carlota López and Marta Muñoz suffered another (bad) defeat in a match decided on the 17th hole, while Carolina Pérez-Tasso and Adriana García Terol secured the first all-Spanish point with authority (4/3).

Tenth title for the United States

This was the fourteenth edition of the PING Junior Solheim Cup, where Europe sought its third victory in four editions after winning in 2021 and 2023 before falling to defeat on American soil in 2024. In the overall standings of the tournament, the United States has achieved ten victories to Europe's four.

Thanks to the support of PING and the Solheim family, the competition has gained a reputation as a showcase for the best junior golfers, who later become world-class players.
