Spain secured a decisive victory in the Women's International Friendly Match against Sweden at Sherry Golf Jerez, avenging their defeat to France the previous day at Arcos Gardens Golf (Cádiz). Both matches are part of the preparation program for the Spanish Women's Amateur International Championship, Copa SM La Reina, which begins on the 28th.

Against the Nordic team, Spanish captain Ana Sansó-Rubert relied on the support of Belén Buendía from Valencia, Carlota Ciganda from Navarre, Ana Fernández de Mesa from Málaga, Mayte Vizcarrondo from Cádiz, Marta Silva from Santiago de Compostela, Ane Urchegui from San Sebastián, and Mireia Prat and Inés Tusquets from Barcelona. All of them displayed a high level of play that allowed them to easily defeat their opponents.

Spain, after their initial victory in the fourballs and foursomes on the first day, finished off their opponent with a convincing performance in the singles matches on the second day. They won six of them and secured their victory with an undeniable 11 1/2 – 4 1/2 score.

Just a few hours earlier, a Spanish team made up of Beatriz Serra from Barcelona, Teresa Puga from Galicia and Patricia Queipo de Llano and Patricia Sanz from Madrid, succumbed to the powerful French squad, whose members arrive in great form for the Queen's Cup.

The match, held at Arcos Gardens Golf, was decided in favor of the French pair from the first day. Over the two days of play, both Isabelle Boineau and Caroline Afonso displayed an excellent level of play, making them serious contenders for the Queen's Cup.

This international competition is being held at Sherry Golf Jerez from Wednesday, February 28th to March 4th with the presence of 99 European players, including Carlota Ciganda, who is aiming for her third consecutive victory.
