The great equality with which the first day of the IV National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament 2022 concluded, continued into the second day until its final consequences, as it was necessary to break the final tie between the two players classified in first position according to the handicap of each one.

And it was this scale that established Laurentino Gil's victory, as he has a handicap of 1.0, while the other player who finished in first place, José María Ortiz de Pinedo, has a handicap of -3.4.

To reach this outcome, both players signed cards of 49 and 50 strokes respectively, for a total of 154 strokes, which allowed them to dethrone the trio that dominated at the start of the day.

A very tight first day

The first round of this 4th National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament 2022 was marked by great equality, as evidenced by the fact that there were three players sharing the first place in the provisional standings and nine golfers separated by one or two strokes.

Javier Niederleytner, Iker Hiriart, and Prakash Aisa took the lead after topping the first two rounds of these Pitch & Putt tournaments. All three improved their scores in the second round compared to the first.

Javier Niederleytner and Prakash Aisa finished with identical rounds of 53 and 50 strokes, while Iker Hiriart carded rounds of 52 and 51. Thus, the three of them, with a total of 103 strokes, finished one stroke ahead of another trio made up of Juan Soler, Raúl Toca, and José María Ortiz de Pinedo.

Five holes in one

The distance of the holes in Pitch & Putt courses means that it is not unusual to achieve the always impressive holes in one.

In this case, a total of five were achieved, two by the winner, Laurentino Gil, while the other three were achieved by Francisco Javier Casado, Fernando Cabezudo and Diego Roman.

Sixth and final qualifying event for the National Ranking

This IV National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament 2022 was the sixth and final event valid for the National Ranking of the category.

Let us remember that the four national qualifying events and the individual Spanish Championships are taken into account, both of which resulted in victories for Prakash Aisa at the Las Palmeras course in the Canary Islands, and Nuria Bertrán at the José Antonio Samaranch Sports City (Madrid).

The first National Ranking Tournament, held at Aloha Golf (Málaga), concluded with a victory for the young Dutchman Youp Orsel, while the second, at Green Paddock (Madrid), ended with a win for Luis Montero from Madrid. José Gómez was crowned the winner in the third tournament at Torre Pacheco.
