As announced in Circular 28/2020, today, June 8, 2020, the World Handicap System (WHS) comes into force in the RFEG and the EGA Handicap System ceases to be valid.

URGENT!: The Central Handicap System server will be closed at 4:00 PM to perform the migration

Given that the SMH involves significantly more calculations and processes than the old system, the RFEG has also modernized the servers and communications for sending results to the Central Handicap Server (SCH). We have been in constant contact with the competition software providers to ensure they were ready for this transition.

This change involves temporarily closing the SCH system to accepting valid returns while the server migration work is being carried out. The process will be as follows:

. Clubs must ensure that all rounds (including RFCs) have been submitted to the SCH before 4:00 PM on Monday, June 8. It is important that any result disputes are also resolved before this time.

. The SCH will close for sending results at 4:00 PM, after which the migration work will begin.

. From Tuesday, June 9, 2020, clubs must update their competition programs so that, once the new SCH is enabled, they can submit the laps under the new platform.

. Once the server migration work is completed, the reopening of the SCH, which is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, will be announced again.

. All rounds played while the SCH is closed can be processed once the SCH is open again.

. Since the SMH is already in effect, the handicap to be used is the SMH. This handicap can be consulted both through the APP and the RFEG Player Area.

With this process, we aim to guarantee the best possible service to clubs and members. We expect to meet the deadlines, although we are aware that this process has caused more problems than anticipated in other federations that have already carried out similar server migrations.
