The Spanish Senior Grand Prix for Men Over 60 and 70 Years Old returns for its eighth edition this weekend, September 20th and 21st, at the Castillo de Gorraiz course in Navarre. Nearly one hundred players will participate in the competition.

The tournament brings together a good selection of the elite of senior golf in our country; we are talking about players with experience in European Team Championships and, in some cases, with a significant winning record at the national level: Alfonso Montojo (0.4), Julián García-Mayoral (0.9), Álvaro Llanza (1.5), Estanislao Urquijo (2.7),…

In addition, the list of candidates for the Spanish Over 60 Champion trophy includes other interesting names, such as Antonio Llerena (2.9) from Valencia, five times Spanish Adapted Golf Champion.

Luis Gabarda, winner last year at the Madrid National Golf Center with an excellent first round of 69 strokes that put him on course for victory, will be present. José Ignacio Martínez finished second, just one stroke behind.

Gustavo Larrazábal, defending his title

In the Over 70 category, there will also be a defending champion: Gustavo Larrazábal from Cantabria, winner of the last two editions. The Cantabrian player also won the Over 60 category in 2019 and 2022.

Larrazábal shares the spotlight in the tournament's list of winners with Juan Carlos Tinturé from Asturias, winner of the first two editions held in 2017 and 2018.
