SPANISH WOMEN'S PITCH & PUTT CHAMPIONSHIP 2025
See tournament information below, in Related Content.
The Spanish Women's Pitch & Putt Championship celebrates its twentieth edition this weekend, October 25th and 26th, at one of the most emblematic courses for this golf discipline, the Elche Golf School. Forty-eight golfers will compete, with special mention going to María Velázquez from the Canary Islands, the defending champion.
The island golfer (playing handicap -1.6) is the only one of the fifteen previous winners to attend the event, which gives her an extra advantage, although the list of possible rivals on Sunday is made up of interesting names, from the very young Elena Isorna (-1.4), Spanish Junior Pitch & Putt Champion, to two regulars like María Rodríguez (5.5) and Matilde Pariente (6.8).
Once again, the event is sponsored by Bodegas Habla, which will award one of its prized Magnum bottles to the golfers who manage to score a hole-in-one in the competition.
As in previous editions, the competition takes place over two days of Stroke Play, with 18 holes played on each day.
Sixth and final event of the National Ranking
The 2025 National Pitch & Putt Ranking consists of six events: the Spanish Individual Championships and the four National Ranking Tournaments. The latter resulted in victories for Carlos Vega, César Crespo, and, twice, José María Ortiz de Pinedo, while the Spanish Men's Championship, held in May, concluded with a win for César Crespo himself at the Paderne course in A Coruña.
Cristina Carlón dominates the list of winners with three titles
Only one player has won this Spanish Women's Pitch & Putt Championship three times in these nineteen years: Cristina Carlón from Palencia, winner in 2019, 2022 and 2023.
In addition, two other players, María Castillo from the Canary Islands, who won her second title in 2011, and Ana Peláez from Malaga (winner in 2013 and 2014), one of the greatest talents in Spanish women's golf who is already winning in the professional field, have two titles in their tally.
