Twenty-eight Spaniards, including three Challenge Tour winners and the leaders of the Road to Mallorca, will compete in the Andalucía Challenge Cádiz at the Iberostar Real Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri, starting tomorrow, Wednesday. Each player arrives in Cádiz with different objectives depending on their standing on the Challenge Tour, but with a common goal: victory in the Andalucía Challenge Cádiz and a move up to the European Tour.

Lucas Vacarisas, Alejandro del Rey and Jacobo Pastor come with victories in the Alps Tour, and will have to fight for the title against this year's Challenge Tour winners such as Hurly Long, Tyler Koivisto and Anton Karlsson.

But aside from the fight for victory, one of this week's objectives will be to qualify for the Grand Final in Mallorca, where the five players who will earn the right to play on the European Tour will be decided. The top 45 players in the rankings at the end of the Andalucía Challenge in Cádiz will compete there.

The top three players in the ranking will compete in the Andalucía Challenge in Cadiz in their race towards the Tour: German Marcel Schneider and Britons Richard Mansell and Matt Ford.

Pep Anglés is the highest-ranked Spaniard in 4th position thanks to his 2nd place in the Portugal Challenge and 11th in South Africa.

Santiago Tarrío has also secured his participation in the final thanks to his 7th place in Ireland, 4th in South Africa and 14th in Italy, which put him 14th in the ranking.

Pedro Oriol managed to break into the top 20 and secure his place in the Grand Final with his 3rd position in the Andalucía Challenge in Spain, which catapulted him to 23rd place.

Scott Fernández, Mario Galiano and Emilio Cuartero are among the top 100 ranked, but are currently out of the Grand Final, so they will have to make the most of the Andalucía Challenge in Cádiz.

Eleven players from the Pro Spain team, to whom the RFEG offers the opportunity to compete in the tournament, will fight for the title: Mario Galiano, Iván Cantero, David Borda, Scott Fernández, Manuel Elvira, Ángel Hidalgo, Mario Beltrán, Víctor Pastor, Pep Anglés, Santiago Tarrío and Javier Sainz.

Among the Spaniards, the participation of three amateurs stands out: Eduard Roussaud, currently 4th in the World Amateur Ranking, who will try to improve his 5th place from last week in the Andalucía Challenge in Spain; and the amateurs who will go directly from here to compete in the Mayakoba qualifier (PGA Tour Tournament), Álvaro Muller, 19th in the world ranking and Eugenio López-Chacarra.

This Wednesday at 8:00 a.m., the first round of the Andalucía Challenge Cádiz will begin at the Iberostar Real Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri.
