The III National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament, the fourth and penultimate qualifying event for the 2026 National Pitch & Putt Ranking, has concluded at the Paderne Golf Club in La Coruña, with an undisputed victory for Simón Gómez.

The Galician player, who had built up a significant lead in the previous two days, was not surprised by his rivals and needed only a score of 53 strokes and a total of 147 strokes to take the victory.

The player who came closest to Simón Gómez was César Crespo, as his final round of 49 strokes allowed him to finish the tournament in second place with a total of 151 strokes.

The podium was completed by Ramón Baladrón and Antón Pérez, with final rounds of 52 and 50 strokes respectively, and a total of 152 strokes.

Furthermore, Bodegas Habla has once again acted as a sponsor of the competition and has awarded a coveted Magnum format to the players who have achieved a hole-in-one during any of the three days of the tournament.

Simón Gómez put some distance between them at the start

The A Coruña course of Club de Golf Paderne hosted a new qualifying event for the 2026 National Pitch & Putt Ranking, which brought together a total of 53 players ready to push their chances towards the final classification of the circuit.

After the first two rounds, Simón Gómez took the lead thanks to two outstanding rounds of 49 and 45 strokes for a total of 94. However, the Galician player was not the most accurate in the opening round, an honor that went to Ramón Baladrón with a magnificent round of 48 strokes, but Gómez reacted brilliantly in the second round to take the sole lead.

That provisional first place also came with a comfortable advantage of six strokes over Ramón Baladrón, who was second, and seven strokes over Hugo Carro and Noel Calzadilla, who shared third place.

As has been the custom in recent years, the tests that count towards the National Pitch & Putt Ranking are played over three rounds: two of them are played on Saturday and the third and final round takes place on Sunday morning.

Five events make up the National Ranking

The 2026 National Pitch & Putt Ranking is made up of five tournaments: the Spanish Individual Championships and the three National Zonal Qualifying Tournaments.

The Spanish Men's Championship concluded with the victory of José María Ortiz de Pinedo, while the Spanish Women's Championship will be held on October 24 and 25 at JAS Colmenar Golf (Madrid).

As for the National Zonal Qualifying Tournaments, the first one, held at Bil Bil Golf (Malaga), ended with the triumph of Marcos Gómez, and later, the Pitch & Putt Cup of Castilla y León, played at Golf Sotoverde (Valladolid), crowned José María Ortiz de Pinedo as the winner.
