El quinto artículo se centra en la limitación de las subidas de hándicap, que tendrá dos niveles. En el sistema actual esto no es necesario ya que las subidas se hacen de manera muy lenta, ya que se sube una sola décima cuando no se juega bien. Sin embargo, el SMH, al ser un sistema más dinámico, uno de los objetivos del nuevo sistema es que refleje mejor el nivel real del jugador, por lo que necesita de una limitación en las subidas.
