Andrea Revuelta narrowly missed out on winning one of the most prestigious titles in world amateur golf. The Madrid native lost in the final of the 123rd edition of The Women's Amateur Championship, held at the historic Scottish course of Muirfield, where France's Valentine Delon prevailed 3&1 in the decisive 36-hole match to claim the title.

The result, however, does not diminish the extraordinary championship achieved by the Spaniard. Reaching the final required overcoming one of the toughest challenges on the international amateur calendar, first with two days of Stroke Play qualifying and, subsequently, a demanding Match Play knockout stage against some of the best golfers in the world.

Andrea Revuelta, with her sister Angela as caddie, overcame each of the elimination rounds, successively defeating the American Melanie Walker (1 up), the Spanish Balma Dávalos (2/1) and the English Sophia Fullbrook (2 up).

Thus, until reaching the quarterfinals, where Andrea Revuelta defeated Cayetana Fernández in an exciting Spanish duel, and then got rid of the American Farah O'Keefe -number 3 in the world- by 1 up to reach the final.

In the decisive match, Valentine Delon once again displayed the consistency that had characterized her throughout the week, maintaining control almost from start to finish to win 3-1 and claim the title. The Frenchwoman thus capped off a flawless tournament and prevented Andrea Revuelta from becoming the second consecutive Spanish woman to lift the trophy, following Paula Martín's victory in 2015.

Andrea Revuelta was also unable to expand the brilliant list of Spanish champions of the tournament, made up of Marta Prieto (2001), Elisa Serramiá (2003), Carlota Ciganda (2006), Belén Mozo (2007), Azahara Muñoz (2009) and Paula Martín (2025), although her runner-up finish once again places Spanish women's golf among the great protagonists of the European scene.
