The Spanish Commission for the Fight Against Doping in Sport (CELAD), formerly known as AEPSAD (Spanish Agency for Health Protection in Sport), has carried out its first promotional action in the field of golf in order to publicize its activity during the celebration of the Men's and Ladies' Individual Championship of the La Dehesa Golf Club, in the Madrid town of Villanueva de la Cañada.
The objective of this initiative is to inform athletes, on-site, about the Agency's actions on issues such as the risks of supplements; precautions when taking medications and other substances; understanding how doping controls work; and ways to collaborate anonymously through an information/reporting channel, among others.
CELAD is participating in both recreational and competitive events, since the protection of health and values of sport affect both types of sporting activities.
A second objective of CELAD in these promotional actions is to spread the word that this sport/event promotes CLEAN SPORT by publishing photos and a report on its social networks (after complying with the provisions of the LOPD with the interested parties).
CELAD has developed the brochure “Doping: What you should know” which contains the most relevant information.
