It is a great pleasure for me to greet all those who will visit this page of the Aragonese Golf Federation, and especially the members of Aragon, the primary recipients of the information it contains.
When the first club in Spain was created in 1891 (it was in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), nobody could imagine the expansion of this sport from both a qualitative and quantitative point of view.
It is a well-known fact that sport eliminates borders and brings together those who practice it, regardless of language, color, or religion. And in Aragon, where hospitality is one of its defining virtues, one can seek leisure or relaxation and enjoy golf with the assurance of always being among friends. The MADRID GOLF FEDERATION is a private, non-profit entity that holds the exclusive official representation of the sport of golf and the specialty of pitch & putt in the territory of the Community of Madrid for public purposes.
Furthermore, it is a public utility entity, in accordance with the provisions of article 1.5 of Decree 159/1996, and in addition to its own powers it exercises, by delegation, public functions of an administrative nature, acting in this case as a collaborating agent of the Public Administration.
As an entity whose purpose is the practice and promotion of the sport of golf, it will attend to the development of its sporting disciplines in accordance with the regulations of the Community of Madrid and those of the national and international sports organizations that govern said sport.
