The overall condition of the field can be described as outstanding, as the board of directors constantly applies programs and resources to keep it in the best possible condition.
The sea is the true protagonist, as it is present at all times in 5 holes, while in the others it is the thousands of pine trees that make up its forests that define this course as requiring absolute precision.

On the 4th hole, the estuary forces you to cross 150 meters to reach the fairway, with two bunkers at the landing of the drive. The green of the 5th hole practically extends into the sea; a short but impressive hole. The 7th is intimidating due to its narrowness, punishing you on the left with a very tough rough and with the entire sea to its right.

The La Toja golf course, Galicia's only tourist course, was inaugurated in 1968 and remodeled in 1975, when the current layout was opened. In subsequent years, it was further developed with the construction of new tees on six holes, which now have separate tee boxes for the two back nines, as well as the refurbishment of greens and bunkers. Also during this period, the current clubhouse was built, replacing the previous one destroyed by fire, along with the pro shop and driving range.
