Club History

Real Club de Golf Guadalmina

Opened in 1959, Guadalmina now hosts more than 2,000 members from 17 nationalities, and undoubtedly offers the best social life on the Costa del Sol.
Guadalmina has two 18-hole golf courses and a 9-hole par 3 course. It also has a driving range for 40 players with a covered platform with 21 spaces, a chipping area, a practice bunker, and a putting green.

Throughout its history, Guadalmina has hosted important tournaments such as the Spanish Championship in 1965, and the European Tour Qualifying School events in 1995 and 1996, or the APG Spanish Professional Championship in 1998.

In 2013 and 2014 it hosted the Andalusia Amateur Cup, valid for the World Ranking, as well as the Women's Absolute Championship of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th category, and was the venue for the Andalusia Alps.

In 2008 His Majesty the King granted Guadalmina the title of ROYAL GOLF CLUB GUADALMINA. After 50 years of golf on the Costa del Sol, the Royal Golf Club Guadalmina is a mature club, always young and with a great social life.
This southern layout is the oldest at Guadalmina Golf Club. Guadalmina South was designed by Javier Arana in 1959. The course is renowned for its difficulty and challenging nature, making it ideal for experienced hitters. The fairways of Guadalmina South are narrow and well-protected by large trees, which, in addition to providing welcome shade in summer, force players to be precise with their shots. In 2002, under the supervision of Global Golf, it was completely renovated.

Guadalmina Sur is famous for its hardness and difficulty, making it ideal for experienced hitters.

The streets of Guadalmina Sur are narrow and well protected by large trees, which, in addition to providing pleasant shade in summer, force the player to be precise with his shots.

The northern field is shorter than the southern one, has more undulating terrain, and presents more water obstacles.

Its layout requires you to go straight down the center of the fairways, otherwise you could end up in one of the many water traps hidden in the rough.

Designed by Folco Nardi in 1973, this layout at the Guadalmina Golf Club runs almost parallel to its southern counterpart. A comparison of the two courses reveals that the northern course is shorter, has more undulating terrain, and features more water hazards. Its layout demands playing straight down the center of the fairways, otherwise, one could easily end up in one of the numerous water traps hidden in the rough.

The Real Club de Golf Guadalmina has a driving range for 40 players with a covered platform with 21 spaces, chipping and practice bunker and putting green.

The driving range and the putting green, chipping green and bunker areas make Guadalmina a national benchmark for golf.

The café, renovated in 2007, offers a pleasant and functional atmosphere. The tasteful furnishings allow patrons to enjoy a variety of options both inside and on the two outdoor terraces.

Antonio Campuzano, in charge of the catering at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, offers a balanced gastronomic selection, combining the daily menu for players with a choice of fish, meats and elaborate dishes accompanied by magnificent wines.
