The municipal golf course El Castillejo, located in Alcalá de la Selva, in the heart of the Sierra de Gúdar mountain range in Teruel, is the highest altitude golf course in Spain.
Its design has respected the original orography: valleys, terraces… and the pine trees and other trees that were in the valley.
This 9-hole course offers something for every type of golfer. A prime example is the skill and precision required for the 8th hole, known as "El Cerro" (The Hill), a short par 3 with an elevated green atop a rocky outcrop. Those who prefer a longer game will also find plenty to enjoy, with several long par 3s and a par 5 with a blind tee shot. From anywhere on the course, you can enjoy magnificent views of the mountains. All of this makes for a course that, thanks to its design and scenery, guarantees entertainment and enjoyment.
For a full day in Alcalá de la Selva, you can enjoy fantastic visits to the surrounding area, the castle, the town's fairs and festivals, adventure sports, hiking, horseback riding, quad biking, and skiing; a wide range of hotels; and exquisite and varied cuisine. In short, Alcalá de la Selva offers the perfect combination of golf and quality rural tourism.
