Club History

Lo Romero Golf Course

Lo Romero Golf is a golf course located in El Pilar de la Horadada, a municipality on the Mediterranean coast at the southern end of the province of Alicante.

Design

Lo Romero Golf is a very playable, traditional course with a pleasant layout, no significant elevation changes, and varied, original, and fun holes. The fairways and greens are wide, and their gentle slopes are easily discernible.
It has been designed to adapt to the different skill levels that will be tested there. Players will find accessible holes where they can achieve par and others where they will have to demonstrate their abilities.

On average, the holes have four tee boxes, and the 57 bunkers (all sand-filled), water features, and eight lakes are strategically placed. The complete 18-hole course includes four par-3s, ten par-4s, and four par-5s. It's a par 72 course measuring 6,237 meters for professional golfers and 5,260 meters for amateur golfers. It takes about four hours to walk.
The course requires the use of every club in the bag and is designed to always benefit the player, rewarding good play without overly penalizing mistakes. In short, everything has been meticulously designed so that every player leaves with a positive feeling after their visit.

Around

The first nine holes, which make up a gentle first round, lie on the natural basin of an estate where citrus fruits were formerly grown.

The second nine, from holes 10 to 18, is more undulating and winds through the original pine forest that covers some old agricultural terraces. This unique setting boasts the most spectacular routes and the best views. From there, the green of the course contrasts with the blue horizon where La Manga separates the Mediterranean Sea from the Mar Menor lagoon.

The local flora has been respected and enhanced through the replanting of native, typically Mediterranean varieties. Wildlife is also abundant. Squirrels, partridges, rabbits, and both local and migratory birds have adapted well to the countryside, making their home in the areas where they feel most comfortable. The region is also well-known for its mild climate, although the wind, due to its proximity to the sea, will occasionally be a factor to consider when playing certain holes.
