The Spanish Under-18 Women's team has avenged its defeat last year in the first edition of the International Match against France with a close victory (7-5) at the St. Cloud course, where the French Junior International Championship is being held from the 20th.

Victories for Madrid natives Patricia Sanz and Patricia Queipo de Llano, and for Mandy Goyos from A Coruña, halted the French comeback after the first day. Anna Arrese from Barcelona drew her match, while Ana Fernández de Mesa from Malaga and Elia Folch from Barcelona were unable to secure any points in their games.

The first day ended with a slight advantage for the team captained by Lucía Mar (3.5-2.5) after the fourballs ended in a tie and Spain won two of the three foursomes in play.

This victory levels the competition's standings, as France triumphed in the inaugural edition with a resounding 7-1 victory. The tournament also served as a prelude to the French Junior International Championship, which takes place from March 20th to 24th in St. Cloud, featuring 17 Spanish players.
