The Spanish Agency for Health Protection in Sport (AEPSAD) and the Polytechnic University of Madrid are organizing a congress in which, under the motto Think Clean, the factors that influence the use of doping methods and substances will be addressed from a perspective of the Human and Social Sciences.
This 5th International Congress on Sport, Doping and Society will be held in Madrid from February 15th to 17th, 2017.
Under the slogan Think Clean, the meeting, which will feature international experts, aims to share the results of scientific research and new methodologies in the field of doping in sport.
From the specific perspective of the Humanities and Social Sciences, this Congress will provide insight into the factors that influence the use of doping methods and substances. This knowledge will then inform future actions to prevent and control doping and promote ethical behavior in sports.
In addition, the Congress will dedicate a special training session to addressing aspects related to doping prevention in sport.
A large number of sports authorities, researchers, educators, and other professionals working in various areas of the fight against doping are expected to attend. The plenary conference, which will serve as the official opening, will be delivered by David Howman, former Director General of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
