The National Centre and the Centre of Excellence, at your service

For the twelfth consecutive year, the Madrid group's daily training sessions are held at the National Golf Centre, one of the many purposes for which it was designed.

In addition, all members of the National School have access, from the beginning of the season, to the Golf Centre of Excellence, a state-of-the-art facility, located on the practice range of the National Centre in Madrid, built with the aim of increasing the number of Spanish players among the top 100 in the World Ranking in both the amateur and professional spheres.

With a very outstanding combined record, which includes a good number of national and international titles of the highest prestige, the new promotion of the Blume National School of Golf has among its most decorated members Paula Neira, Raquel Olmos, Xabier Gorospe, Borja Martín and Ignacio Puente.

The first two were part of the Spanish team that won the bronze medal at the past European Under 18 Women's Championship, apart from Paula Neira also coming in second, just shy of victory at the Annika Invitational Europe.

In the men's category, Xabier Gorospe won the title at the Spanish Under 18 Men's International in 2014, while Borja Martín contributed to the silver medal at the 2014 European Under 16 Team Championship and was a semi-finalist at the 2015 British Boys Championship. For his part, Ignacio Puente won one of the few major titles missing from Spanish golf in 2015 by winning the English Under 16 International Championship.

Good rankings, close to victory, in various national and international tournaments, apart from repeated participations in national teams characterize the trajectory of most of the other members of the Blume National Golf School located in Madrid.

A technical, physical and psychological team at your disposal

Technical preparation –led by Salva Luna, Kiko Luna and Álvaro Salto–, physical and psychological preparation, the latter two areas under the responsibility of Francisco Fernández and Óscar del Río, constitute the exhaustive work program, all while they study and carry out their respective courses thanks to a timetable distribution that combines both activities, a solid team that is completed with Ignacio Gervás and Laura Moreno as Technical Director and Coordinator of the Blume National Golf School in Madrid, respectively.

Educational and sporting compatibility

The approach is, once again, unidirectional: to train good people and athletes through a plan of activities developed in state-of-the-art facilities that allow the practice of golf at the highest level.

These scholarships are exclusively aimed at young players who, according to the technical criteria of the RFEG, have a relevant sporting potential, bearing in mind that for the renewal of the aforementioned scholarships it is essential that the student passes the academic year.

Likewise, all members of the Blume National School in Madrid attend their corresponding classes daily, like any other student, in a specialized subsidized center that allows them to combine schedules with morning technical training (from 11:00 to 14:00) and afternoon physical training.

To maintain a competitive edge at the highest level, the RFEG encourages these promising young athletes to participate in various competitions every weekend possible. Furthermore, they all undergo a thorough medical and psychological evaluation, and the results, along with any necessary treatments or dietary adjustments to optimize their performance at all levels, are communicated to their families.

León, once again a branch of the National Golf School

For the third consecutive year, the National Golf School of León has become another breeding ground for young players, just as the National School of Madrid has been doing in recent decades.

The creation of the National Golf School of León, which dates back to 2014, represents a magnificent opportunity for those players who have not had the chance to enter the Blume in Madrid, since its members follow exactly the same program as their counterparts in the capital of Spain.

In this project, in which the various Autonomous Federations and the Higher Sports Council also participate jointly with the RFEG, the selected players are provided with sports training at the facilities of the High Performance Center of León and academic training at the Colegio Leonés, a center with more than 100 years of history that has traditionally been the breeding ground for great athletes, two true references in the area.

The newly created High Performance Center allows for indoor training on days with adverse weather conditions, while the León Golf Club boasts a renowned course with a driving range and a large putting green.

The Blume School in León is hosting this season 16 and 17-year-old players who have excelled in recent years: Teresa Díez Moliner from Valladolid, Beatriz Mosquera, Jesús Ouro and Alejandro Nimo from Galicia, David Pinza from Albacete, Francisco Crego from León, Pablo Hualde from Navarre and Jon López-Lanchares from San Sebastián.

The technical aspects are handled by professional Jorge García, physical conditioning by Juan Carlos Redondo, and coordination by Alberto Díaz Bravo. The players also work on their psychological development with Óscar del Río, a team overseen by Ignacio Gervás, the RFEG's Technical Director of Sports.
