Raquel Olmos, from Murcia, has been named Player of the Year at the Blume National Golf Schools, an award that recognizes her achievements in sports, academics, and other areas. Her progress from September to June earned her this honor.

Over the past few months, six Players of the Term have been named at the Blume National Golf Schools. All of them have earned their place in the judgment of the school coaches, but this year's special recognition goes to one of the most exciting new talents in the women's game.

Raquel Olmos, a player trained by the Murcian Federation and the Torre Pacheco course in her hometown, has achieved a victory in the Valencian Community Championship in her first year at the Blume in Madrid, along with a series of other good results that have led her to be selected to compete in the Under 18 European Team Championship in Norway.

Tous and Díez-Moliner, standouts in the third quarter

A week earlier, Joan Tous from the Balearic Islands and Teresa Díez-Moliner from Valladolid were named Players of the Term at the Blume National Golf Schools in Madrid and León, respectively. Both were singled out by their coaches in this third and final event of the term.

Joan Tous has excelled this season with solid performances in events that count towards the National Rankings; thus, he was seventh in the Spanish Under 18 Championship and a finalist in the Puerta de Hierro National Cup 2015, in which he was only beaten by Mario Galiano.

For her part, Teresa Díez-Moliner has continued the upward trajectory that was evident in previous years. Among other achievements, she finished fourth in the Valencian Community Championship and ninth in the Andalusian Cup.

In the second quarter, Belén Amorós and David Pinza were named Players of the Quarter at the Blume National Golf Schools in Madrid and León, respectively.

Belén Amorós joined the Blume High-Performance Center in Madrid this 2015/2016 season, and in just a few months has achieved good results in tournaments such as the Madrid Championship, where she finished tenth. She was equally inspired in the Valencian Community Championship (22nd place).

David Pinza, a player from Las Pinaillas who joined the Blume Academy in León this season, has settled in well. His strong performance in the Spanish Under-18 Championship (23rd place) is a result of his hard work over the past few months.

Belén Amorós and David Pinza took over from Borja Martín and Íñigo Romero, who were named players for the first quarter of this 2015/16 season.

Borja Martín joined the Blume High-Performance Center in September, one of eight new players at the school run by Salvador Luna. In the first few months of the season, this player from the Basozábal neighborhood of San Sebastián finished eleventh in the Balearic Cup, the first qualifying event for 2016, and was selected to play in the France-Spain Junior Match (which France won).

Iñigo Romero, for his part, is another new face at the Blume Center in León. Coming from the Royal Golf Club of San Sebastián, he started the season with a superb fifth-place finish in the Balearic Cup.

Much more than a sporting award

The Player of the Quarter – and of the Year, naturally – is chosen not only for their results in the tournaments they participate in – which, obviously, is a criterion to be taken into account – but also for other merits acquired in the sporting arena: good attitude on the course, respect for their playing partners, proper care and maintenance of both shared and personal equipment,…

In addition to these purely sporting criteria, this designation recognizes other merits that are equally valuable in the boys and girls who are part of both schools: academic performance, good behavior with classmates and coaches, not using mobile phones at certain times and places, attitude at school,…

According to coaches, teachers, and trainers, these players have excelled in all these areas. Congratulations!
