The Courses and Handicap Committee wishes to clarify that the current EGA Handicap System establishes a procedure for cases in which any eventual anomaly may be detected, allowing a player to modify their handicap on the card if they believe it to be incorrect.
Decision 4.5.3 (page 55 of the aforementioned Manual) explains that, in cases where the player does not agree with the handicap shown on his card (the one consulted by the clubs in the SCH), in addition to submitting a complaint to the Competition Committee, he can write down the handicap he thinks is correct before going out to play.
The Competition Committee, once the complaint has been submitted, has time to investigate the player's claim in order to make a decision.
