. The members of the National Golf School had direct contact with media representatives in order to familiarize them with their relationship with this important area in the dissemination of golf.
. The Canary Islands and Tenerife as golf destinations, one of the hallmarks of the 6th Communication and Business Cup
The members of the Blume National School of Golf, the great promises of the future of our sport, have become the main protagonists of the Communication and Companies Cup, an event with an informative objective that is structured as a vehicle for disseminating the benefits of this sport in different sporting, journalistic and social areas.
Young golfers of the proven quality of Alejandra Pasarín, Covadonga Sanjuán, Nuria Iturrios, María Parra, Marta Pérez, Ana Peláez, Mario Galiano, Iván Cantero, Xavier Gorospe, Pablo Rodríguez-Tabernero and Iñigo López-Pizarro took part in this event with the backing of an impressive record despite their youth, which boasts titles of Spanish champions in all categories apart from several international triumphs that include gold, silver and bronze medals in team competitions or, in a more recent period, the consideration of number 1 of the European Amateur Ranking 2014 or the victory in the last British Girls.
They all contributed their expertise to an event in which they, in turn, gained experience as guides for amateur players who will most likely repeat the experience many times in the future when they participate in a ProAm, sharing the game with representatives of media outlets such as TVE, Antena 3, Canal+, Agencia EFE, ABC, COPE, Interviú, Madridiario, specialized golf media and companies, among others, who participated in a very beneficial day of exchange of activities for everyone.
Furthermore, this select group of players has also experienced the responsibility of being a vehicle for promoting the sport of golf, a role they will undoubtedly play many more times in the near future, when they finally emerge and lead the way for players like Sergio García, Álvaro Quirós, Azahara Muñoz, etc., who were also members of the National Golf School.
Active presence of the Canary Islands and Tenerife
On this occasion, the Canary Islands and Tenerife as golf destinations have also played a prominent role in highlighting the many high-quality golfing options available in this Autonomous Community to all Spanish and foreign enthusiasts.
Thus, the VI Communication and Business Cup has continuously hosted the presence of the Canary Islands and Tenerife in all its tournaments to showcase the diversity and extraordinary range of courses that make this Community a world tourist destination, in which golf is one of its best hallmarks, to the point of becoming a strategic sector.
Charity tournaments and golf outreach
The organization of the Media Cup, the celebration of a charity tournament in which two tons of non-perishable food were collected for two charitable entities (the Ciudad Escuela de los Muchachos de Leganés and the Pan y Peces Foundation); the celebration of the Ryder Car – a curious and spectacular event, a mix of golf and rally with buggies, with the aim of showing the benefits of the world of golf to a very important sector within the Spanish economy – or the Juan Carlos Arteche Memorial – an initiative aimed at promoting golf in different social and sporting environments – have been part of the actions successfully carried out during this 2014 in the VI Communication and Companies Cup.
Organized by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, in collaboration with Promotur Turismo de Canarias SA, Turismo de Tenerife, the Madrid Golf Federation and the Association of Journalists and Reporters of Press, Radio, Television and Internet (APEI), this 6th edition of the Communication and Companies Cup has had the usual collaboration of companies such as Michelin, Nicol's, ViñaCHY, Polo Swing, Castellana Golf, Coca-Cola, Heineken, Jeep and Hyundai, among others, which have made its development possible.
