The National School of Sports Technicians celebrates its grand graduation ceremony

Eleven graduating classes received their diplomas

The National Golf Centre hosted the diploma ceremony for the 206 students of the Level I and II Courses…

The National Golf Centre has been the setting for the awarding of diplomas to the 206 students of the Level I and II Courses of the official qualification of Sports Technician who have successfully completed their training and who have been part of the last eleven promotions, nine of them of Level I and two more of Level II.

The ceremony, presided over by Juan Guerrero-Burgos and Ander Martínez, Presidents of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the PGA of Spain, respectively, was attended by various personalities from the field of golf in particular and sport in general.

In an event led by Enrique Martín, Director of the Training Department, which also includes José Manuel Mancebo and Macarena Campomanes, the first person to speak was Ander Martínez, President of the PGA of Spain.

“We are here to recognize the hard work behind each student and everything the Training Department does. Golf will continue to evolve in Spain largely to the extent that you can transmit your passion for our sport,” said Ander Martínez.

Next, Lola Tello, a technician from the Higher Sports Council, spoke. She first congratulated the Department "for this excellent training," and then addressed the newly graduated athletes: "You are the ones who will take athletes to the highest level, and you are also the point of contact with people outside of golf, one of the four sports with the most registered players. Keep that in mind.".

For his part, Jesús Sánchez Martín, Head of Sports Qualifications at the General Directorate of Sports of the Community of Madrid, stated that, for the organization he represents, “it has been a privilege and a pleasure to work alongside the Training Department. You are among the federations that train the most coaches in the Community of Madrid, and that is something to be proud of,” he added.

“The path is not easy because we strive for excellence.”

The ceremony, which was emotional and efficient despite the large number of award winners who received diplomas and emblems, was presided over by Juan Guerrero-Burgos, President of the RFEG, assisted by Jaime Salaverri, First Vice President and President of the Professional Technical Committee.

The federation president thanked the Training Department for its work – “we must value this magnificent work that is not always seen” – before addressing the graduates directly: “We know that the path to obtaining these diplomas has not been easy, and this is because we seek excellence through a great team of people, the teaching staff, who have transmitted their passion for this profession to you.”.

“These titles help transform schools, clubs, courses, and contribute to the growth of our sport. Use them, practice, and enjoy yourselves; you've earned it,” said Juan Guerrero-Burgos, who, as a final request to the students, urged them to join the PGA of Spain.

To conclude the ceremony, with the diplomas and relevant emblems now in the hands of their new owners, Enrique Martín made a plea to the graduates: "Do not stop training, because the foundation of this school is continuous learning.".

Second group of graduates from the National School of Sports Technicians

This event, with 206 graduating students, marked the second graduation ceremony since the National School of Sports Technicians was established by the Training Department. The first took place in 2017, when 178 students received various diplomas.
