José María Ortiz de Pinedo from Valladolid, runner-up in the Italian Pitch & Putt Open, has come close to victory in this international competition, maintaining the good form that also led him to be second in the French Pitch & Putt Open held in mid-May.

José María Ortiz de Pinedo signed rounds of 50, 52 and 51 strokes for a total of 153, only surpassed by the Portuguese Tomás Ribeiro, who with an accumulated score of 144 proved unbeatable not only for the golfer from Castilla y León, but for all the rivals in the competition.

Also noteworthy is the performance of other Spaniards present in the tournament, such as Antón Pérez (third with 154), Rafael Santoja (fifth with 160) and César Fernández de Caleya (sixth with 161).

It is worth remembering that Andrés Pastor, the best in the 2009 edition, and Juan Pablo Monjo, first in 2010 and 2011, increased the Spanish record in this competition.
