Martín Cervera and Daniela Carrión, winners in one of the most exciting Spanish Under-16 Championships

The Andalusian player won with a final score of 67, while the Valencian player won in the tiebreaker.

Martín Cervera and Daniela Carrión have been crowned Spanish Under-16 champions 2026 at the Tarragona club Infinitum Golf, which has experienced one of its most exciting editions: the men's event had a close outcome, while the women's event was resolved after a play-off tiebreaker.

On the special Ruins+Hills course, Martín Cervera (-4 overall), a player with extensive winning experience despite his young age, has completed an excellent weekend in which he has gone from strength to strength: rounds of 68, 68 and, finally, 67 strokes this Sunday to surpass two other Andalusians, Oliver de Wint and Iñaki de la Macorra, leader since the first day.

Cervera managed to keep his bogeys to a minimum in the final round – just two compared to four birdies – forcing his rivals to keep pace. De Wint, his partner, friend, and arch-rival in recent years, did just that with an identical 67 (-2), but De la Macorra, however, carded his most modest round (75, +6).

A few meters away, on the Lakes course, three women were tied at the top of the leaderboard after a fantastic sporting battle: Chanya Huaysan from Andalusia, Icíar Rodríguez from Madrid, and Daniela Carrión from Valencia, who had been the leader at the start of the day. All three managed to beat par to finish with a total of -2 and advance to the playoffs.

It only took one extra hole for Daniela Carrión to secure what is her most resounding victory to date. Her achievement is truly remarkable, as after a splendid start she overcame a challenging second round and the pressure from two players of Chanya and Icíar's caliber.

Iñaki de la Macorra and Daniela Carrión, leaders from the start

The first two days of the tournament concluded with Iñaki de la Macorra and Daniela Carrión in the lead, playing very solidly despite being followed by experienced and highly competitive golfers. The Andalusian player carded an outstanding first round of 63 (-6), a score that was outstanding by any measure. His bogey-free round included four birdies and an eagle on the 3rd hole.

Meanwhile, Daniela Carrión took the lead in the women's competition after carding a 67 (-4) on the Lakes course. The Valencian golfer made eight birdies, although she also made four bogeys, to finish the day one stroke ahead of Icíar Rodríguez and two ahead of Luna Isabella Valencia.

Both Iñaki and Daniela held onto the lead on the second day, with the Andalusian proving more successful, carding a 67 (-2). Five birdies and three bogeys gave him a six-stroke advantage over fellow Andalusian Martín Cervera, one of the players to watch this week, as ultimately proved.

Daniela Carrión's lead was narrower, but she maintained her position after carding a 74 (+3) on a day when bogeys outnumbered birdies, six to three. The Valencian golfer held onto the top spot by one stroke over Chanya Huaysan, Luna Isabella Valencia, and Iciar Rodríguez, three formidable players.

On this second day, the mandatory cut was established, which a total of 61 golfers saved in each of the categories.

The winners join illustrious names in our golf world.

To give a little background, this tournament has been held annually since 1991, offering young golfers areas of activity where fun and competition go hand in hand.

Martín Cervera and Daniela Carrión have joined the ranks of golfers like Jon Rahm, Carlota Ciganda, Sergio García, Rafael Cabrera-Bello, Noemí Jiménez, Adrián Otaegui, and many more in the tournament's history.
