Coinciding with the San Isidro festivities, the Madrid Women's Championship brings one of the best events of the weekend to the Santander Golf Course (Boadilla del Monte). Eighty-three golfers are vying for victory in this well-established tournament.
The majority of golfers are missing, as they are currently immersed in the final stretch of the university season in the United States, but the list includes European champions who have already won renowned events, starting with Adriana García Terol from Barcelona (exact handicap +4.2), winner of the Andalusian Women's Cup at the beginning of the year.
Other Under 18 European champions such as Nagore Martínez (+4.5), Liz Hao (+1.5), Aroa González (+3.9) or Amanda Revuelta (+4.8) are also in the starting lineup, and in Boadilla they will face the next generation, which is coming on strong; we are talking about Rut Díaz (+2.5), Icíar Rodríguez (+3.1), Ángela Revuelta (+4.9), Chanya Huaysan (+4.2) or Daniela Carrión (+0.7), recently crowned Under 16 Spanish champion.
This tournament, which counts towards the Ladies World Amateur Golf Ranking and the Ladies National Under-18 Ranking, is played over 54 holes of stroke play in three consecutive days. After the second round, a cut will be made, with the top 50 players and those tied for 50th place advancing.
