Four players - Manuel Martín from Almería, Ignacio Iglesias from Castellón, Martín Cervera from Cádiz and Jorge de la Riva from A Coruña - are participating this weekend in a technical training camp at the Parador El Saler Golf (Valencia) with their sights set on the 2026 European Under 16 Championship.

The 2026 European Under-16 Championship, popularly known as the European Young Masters, will be held from July 23 to 25 at the Valencia course. This event, led by coach Paola Etchart and member of the Youth Technical Committee (CTJ) Antonio Gonzálbez, serves as the final preparation for the competition, in which two boys and two girls will participate.

In a couple of weeks, a new meeting is planned in El Saler with the four members of the team that will attend this key event of the 2026 youth calendar.

Three gatherings for the Working Groups

In mid-May, the CTJ Men's Working Group held its third and final training camp of the season with the participation of fourteen golfers. This marked the culmination of a period of technical development, during which they utilized the technology of the Center of Excellence (Madrid) to further their training.

The following attended the meeting: Mario Enguita, Bruno Lázaro and Nicolás González from Aragon, Manuel Martín, Martín Cervera, Oliver de Wint and Pedro Tineo from Andalusia, Jorge de la Riva from Galicia, Álvaro González from Catalonia, Julen Ortiz from the Basque Country, Graciliano Ballesteros and Ignacio Iglesias from Valencia, Sergio Vargas from Madrid and Enzo Jiménez from Castile and León.

These players were under the guidance of coaches Kiko Luna, Felipe Rodríguez, Toni Planells, and Borja Nieto, physical trainer Francis Iguacel, and sports psychologist Óscar del Río. The RFEG's Sporting Director, Juan José Grañeda, led the training camp.

This training camp focused on monitoring and technically checking the objectives set in the first two camps, as well as evaluating the development of recent events as important as the Spanish Under-16 Championship.

In addition, each player received specific and personalized technical training on their individual course, along with short game tests and customized physical and mental conditioning. At previous training camps, golfers also attended talks on healthy habits given by Dr. Javier Cerrato.

The weekend before, and also with the National Golf Centre and the Centre of Excellence as venues, the Women's Working Group held its third meeting with the presence of fourteen other golfers.

The golfers mentioned were Luna Isabella Valencia from Murcia, Ioana García from Aragon, Alejandra Hernández, Icíar Rodríguez, Daniela Lozano, Paula Puerta and Rut Diaz from Madrid, Sofía Gamilla, Cornelia Bermudo and Chanya Huaysan from Andalusia, Elena Isorna from Galicia, Paula Jiménez and Valentina Corretja from Catalonia, and Daniela Carrión from Valencia, recently proclaimed Spanish Under-16 Champion.

These players were present at all three events under the guidance of the RFEG coaches, in addition to Paola Etchart.
