Fuerteventura has recovered more than just a hotel and a golf course. It has recovered a feeling: the feeling of once again seeing an iconic space bustling with activity, conversations, tee times, and sunset toasts. The reopening of the Hotel Jandía Golf by Livvo and its renovated 18-hole course truly marks a turning point for the south of the island.
After years of silence, the resort is thriving once again thanks to an investment of nearly 12 million euros and, above all, the personal dedication of Miguel Ángel Donaire, the heart and soul of this rebirth. Alongside him, Adolfo Mira, manager and greenkeeper of the golf course, José Charro, the project's architect, Oliver Rodríguez, an industrial engineer, Miguel Ángel Seoanes, a building surveyor, and Juan Silva, the hotel's director, have led a team that has worked tirelessly, without regard for time, to ensure that every detail lived up to the standards Jandía deserves.
The inauguration brought together some 150 people from the island's social, institutional, and business sectors. Héctor Alemán, Director of Operations at Livvo, served as the speaker, and authorities such as the Island Council's Tourism Councillor, Marlén Figueroa, and the Mayor of Pájara, Alejandro Jesús Jorge Moreno, accompanied Mr. Donaire at an emotional event, culminating in a long and heartfelt round of applause and the traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony.
On the course, Jandía Golf is once again showing its character. An authentic links course, where the wind dictates the terms and every hole demands respect. Generous fairways, well-placed bunkers, and a 2nd hole as photogenic as it is challenging restore the course's personality. The new layout, soon to be implemented, with the 1st and 10th tees next to the hotel and a large panoramic terrace adjacent to the pro shop, invites you to linger. To share stories. To celebrate golf.
Jandía Golf and its grand hotel are back. And Fuerteventura regains an essential setting where tourism, sport, and gastronomy once again go hand in hand.
