The Royal Spanish Golf Federation, together with the Autonomous Federations and the support of the Higher Sports Council through its Women and Sport program, promotes the television program HOLAGOLF, a fifteen-minute magazine that is now in its ninth season.
The aim of this program, presented by journalist Miguel Ángel Barbero and professional golfer Patricia Lobato, is to introduce golf to those unfamiliar with it by highlighting its many benefits, such as health, nature, and physical activity. Additionally, leading figures in the sport collaborate to dispel the prejudices that have historically been associated with this recreational and athletic activity.
The twenty-fifth program begins with a news segment about the new Santander Golf Tour champion. Dutch golfer Lauren Holmey has had a historic season, winning four of the nine tournaments played on the circuit.
Then in "Kiko, I Need You," the maestro Kiko Luna welcomes a world champion, former national basketball coach Pepu Hernández. The Madrid-born coach is looking for tips to help him prevent back pain on the court.
The feature article highlights the extensive research work of journalist Jesús Ruiz, who has published a book compiling all the champions in the history of Spanish golf. Then, in the interview, professional golfer Víctor Pastor explains how hard work always pays off.
Finally, in 'Hugolf's Word', journalist Hugo Costa travels to the magnificent Alcanada golf course in Mallorca. There, three Spaniards have secured their place on next year's DP World Tour and share their firsthand experiences.
This weekly program is produced by La Moviola and promoted by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the Higher Sports Council, through its Women and Sport program.
Apart from the weekly premieres, all HOLAGOLF programs are regularly rebroadcast on Teledeporte and are also available for online viewing at http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/videos/holagolf/, www.holagolf.es and www.rfegolf.es.
