The Royal Spanish Golf Federation, together with the Autonomous Federations and the support of the Higher Sports Council through its Women and Sport program, promotes the television program HOLAGOLF, a fifteen-minute magazine that is now in its ninth season.
The aim of this program, presented by journalist Miguel Ángel Barbero and professional golfer Patricia Lobato, is to introduce golf to those unfamiliar with it by highlighting its many benefits, such as health, nature, and physical activity. Additionally, leading figures in the sport collaborate to dispel the prejudices that have historically been associated with this recreational and athletic activity.
In the nineteenth episode of the season, the program opens with a preview of the Ryder Cup, taking place at Bethpage Black in New York this weekend. Europe will be vying to defend the title they won in Rome two years ago. Following this, young Thomas Artigas explains why he wants to make the leap from pitch & putt to conventional golf.
In the "Signature Courses" section, we explore the wonderful Abama Golf course in Tenerife. The course combines greens at varying elevations with spectacular views of the Tenerife paradise. Then, in "Damasgolf," golfer Ana Peláez speaks with Holagolf about how she's enjoying this new chapter in her golf career: her life has changed in a very positive way.
In his "Hugolf's Word" section, journalist Hugo Costa recounts a charitable act by two of the greatest athletes in Spanish history. Rafa Nadal and Pau Gasol participated in a charity event focused on children's nutrition, where golf became the central theme of a moving day.
This weekly program is produced by La Moviola and promoted by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the Spanish National Sports Council, through its Women and Sport program. In addition to the weekly premieres, all HOLAGOLF programs are regularly rebroadcast on Teledeporte and are also available for online viewing at http://www.rtve.es/alacarta/videos/holagolf/, www.holagolf.es, and www.rfegolf.es.
