Spanish golf is once again well represented, and in greater numbers than ever before, at the England International Under 16 and Under 14 Girls' Championships, which are being held from July 29th to 31st at London's Old Fold Manor Golf Club. A total of seventeen players are participating across the two categories.

The delegation arranged by the RFEG Youth Technical Committee is made up of Carlota López from Valencia, Aroa González from Navarre, Marta Muñoz, Ángela Revuelta, Rut Díaz and Icíar Rodríguez from Madrid, and Sofía Gamilla from Andalusia, with Xisca Negre as captain and Borja Nieto as coach.

Also playing in England are Alejandra Hernández, Aurora Venneri, Carlota Alejandra Burcio, Cornelia Bermudo, África Oliva, Blanca Gómez-Balboa, Carmen and Cristina García, and Isabel Ping.

It should be noted that Icíar Rodríguez already participated last year in the Under 14 category, and she did so successfully; she was third, just one stroke behind the two players tied for first place.

The competition, played in Stroke Play format over three days, is divided into two categories, Under 16 and Under 14, in which in 2023 Adriana García Terol from Barcelona triumphed with rounds of 71, 71 and 75 strokes for -2 in total, being the only one who defeated the Shifnal Golf Club course, north of Birmingham.

At this same England Under 14 International, Cayetana Fernández achieved her first major international success, in her case in 2019. This first successful precedent for Spanish golf in the competition took place at the Gerrard Cross Golf Club course.
