The 3rd National Pitch & Putt Qualifying Tournament 2025 takes place this weekend, June 14th and 15th, at the Severiano Ballesteros Lavin – La Junquera course (Pedreña, Cantabria), where forty-four players are traveling.
This fourth event counting towards the National Ranking features local player José María Ortiz de Pinedo as the headliner. Runner-up in Spain just a month ago, he has a perfect opportunity to fight for what would be his third victory in a National Ranking tournament.
The list also includes other 'classic' – and decorated – participants in Spanish Pitch & Putt, such as Juan Soler, José Ángel Pérez, and Noel Calzadilla, as well as players with very low handicaps, like Jesús Soler and Germán Gutiérrez. All of them are considered contenders for the title.
As has been the custom in recent years, the National Ranking tournaments are held in three rounds: the first two are played on Saturday and the third on Sunday morning.
Once again, Bodegas Habla is sponsoring the competition, awarding a valuable Magnum to players who achieve a hole-in-one on both days.
Six events make up the National Ranking
The 2025 National Pitch & Putt Ranking consists of six events: the Spanish Individual Championships and the four National Qualifying events.
The Spanish Men's Championship was played last May, with César Crespo taking the victory at the Paderne course in A Coruña. The women's championship will take place on October 25th and 26th at Golf Elche.
Two National Ranking tournaments have been played so far, with victories for Carlos Vega and César Crespo. After this event at La Junquera, only the tournament at Las Encinas Golf (Madrid, September 20-21) remains.
